The are evidence that more and more Indonesian young people are moving further away from their culture and tradition. It is not entirely their faults but it is partly the society's fault to the happens.

If a younger generation loses the value of the tradition they actually already lost  their identity. The consequences are the because of their nature, they constantly  seek for identity. regrettable the very often seek acknowledgement by their different behavior which sometimes is  unacceptable in the community. With no place to go to express their aspiration. These vulnerable young people become easy target for undesirable movement such as fundamentalists or even terrorist  to deliver their mission. For that reasons we believe that by strengthening the passion towards culture and tradition, we can fight terrorism.

The SBF is a local government supported intuitive Foundation which aims to preserve, explore and nurture Javanese tradition and culture especially amongst the se younger generation. The aim of this foundation is to drive the young people back to is root, by providing them with an arena to develop their aspiration and direct then towards the understanding appreciation of this rich and unique culture and tradition. By channeling their aspiration and creativity towards positive activities it is hoped that it creates a responsible generation who is able to carry on the traditions and in doing so, this great asset will not able diminished or even extinct

Its objectives are:

•  To accommodate culture groups by facilitating actives

•  Promote their activities amongst internally and externally

•  Educated young people to appreciate other culture and at the same time  nurturing their own culture and traditions

•  Value young people's view expressing their ideas

The Sangga Buwono Foundation founded this year by a concerned group who cares so much about the continuity of the rich culture and traditions. his Excellency  Sri Susuhunan Paku Buwono XIV endorsed this foundation. Several representatives from other countries like the United States Of America, the Netherlands and Switzerland have expressed their support to provide financial contribution toward the activities of foundation.

It is not easy to manage such a noble foundation without support from many parties. We believe, however, that with everybody's support our mission will be achieve.
